If you were a fan of boxing then it goes without saying you knew who Arturo Gatti was. A brave warrior who was known for his constant wars in the ring his most famous being his trilogy against Irish fighter Mickey Ward. The brutal and often savage nature of his fights undoubtedly took it’s toll towards the later stages of his career. In 2005 he was outclassed and on the receiving end of a savage beating and boxing masterclass by what some would consider the best pound for pound boxer in the sport today Floyd Mayweather Jr. After his losses against Carlos Baldomir in 2006 and then against Alfomso Gomez on July 14 2007 he announced his retirement from boxing for good stating “I’ll be back -as a spectator”
