Great day at West Coast Authentic! Royce Gracie was a big hit with fans at our public signing, he had everyone laughing and won us over with his charm. Thank you so much Royce for making the trip to Kelowna and signing several photos, gloves, gis, hats, action figures (not dolls, action figures!!). We would also like to thank those that came to our showroom today to meet MMA Legend Royce Gracie and purchased an autograph!

Captain Ryan Nugent-Hopkins of the Red Deer Rebels was named Player of the Game with two assists to help Team Orr skate to a decisive 7-1 win over Team Cherry at the 2011 Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game at Air Canada Centre.Ryan Murphy of the Kitchener Rangers was named Player of the Game for Team Cherry.

The win earned the coaching staff of Doug Gilmour, Wendel Clark, and Stan Butler a win over Don Cherry, Brian Kilrea, and Bert O’Brien.

With the help of this year's special guest, Theoren Fleury, WCA enjoyed the most successful Annual Christmas Show to date.

The NHL star, Stanley Cup champion and Olympic Gold Medalist spent time with fans taking pictures and signing autographs at the Ramada Hotel in Kelowna on Saturday, December 18th. Fans from all over the Okanagan waited in line to share a moment with the hockey star and now, best selling author of his autobiography, Playing With Fire. Many people dropped by with their own copies of the book to have signed while picking up extra copies during the show as gifts for others on their Christmas gift-giving lists. Roy Fransen, a huge Calgary fan, even had Mr. Fleury sign his arm and later returned to the show to reveal his new tatoo of the player's autograph. "You made my year a happy one!" he writes to WCA.

While the Christmas Show for this year is over it is not too late to pick up that extra special gift for someone on your list. Kamloops, B.C. – Team Russia pulled off a 7-6 victory in a shootout over Team WHL after scoring three unanswered goals in the third period in Game 5 of the 2010 SUBWAY Super Series on Wednesday night before a sellout crowd of 5,456 fans in Kamloops, B.C.
The victory improves the Russians record to 3-1-1 versus the CHL through five games of the series.

Kamloops, B.C. – History was made on Thursday night as Team Russia was crowned champions of the 2010 SUBWAY Super Series after they skated to a 5-2 win over Team WHL in the sixth and final game of the series in Prince George, B.C.

WCA was very excited to be invited to a private function with the Kamloops Blazers. Thursday night was a great time with all players , great to chat with Mark Recchi, Jarome Iginla, Darryl Sydor and Shane Doan was truly an amazing and happy guy to be around. The Friday golf tournament sure was a long day after Thursday. Winning team the Mark Recchi family and Jarome Iginla longest drive. Thanks do Dave for the invite.

Well, once again we had to do one of those tough tournaments that no one else wants. LOL Thanks to the staff and all the great ladies at the Playboy Golf Tournament in Toronto as our WCA reps and clients had a great time. The VIP party was a hit and held at Brassaii in downtown. Then off to the golf at Lionhead Golf & Country Club.

It was great to see all the great players once again. It stated off on Thursday with a golf tournament. The day started cold and wet with lots of rain but most golfers made it through to the end. My partners and Rocket Alumni members, Tyler Spurgeon and Kelly Guard, had a great laugh at my golf game. It was great to see NHL rookie of the year Tyler Myers, Norris trophy winner,Stanley Cup winner, and Olympic Gold medalist Duncan Keith, Olympic Gold medalist Shea Weber, Josh Gorges, Blake Comeau, Chuck Kobasew, Luke Schenn, Travis Moen, Vern Fiddler and many more. A lot of money was raised and the event was sold out. The hockey game on Sunday was the biggest turn out in years and great time was had by all.  Congratulations to Anny and the team for another successful event!

WCA was invited to take part in the 2010 Memorial Cup. The venue was great with the Hockey Hall Of Fame bringing in some very cool hockey history. It was great to meet so many new people and the town of Brandon really rocked it out for the two weeks. A highlight for me was to meet future great, Taylor Hall.  He's a very nice kid and an amazing hockey player.

This event was very exciting, we brought in Olympic Gold Medalist, Theo Fleury. Guests watched Canada vs USA on the big screen while Mr. Fleury mingled with the crowd and said a few words. I'm sure I will be seeing more of Mr. Fleury!  What a great personality!

In December we had Gordie Howe, Mr. Hockey, in town for a public signing. Mr. Howe was very gracious to all of his fans who took the time to stop by! It was very humbling to be able to spend approximately 7 quality hours with, arguably, the best hockey player in the world. It was amazing to say the least. It was also engaging to hear him talk about his wife who he lost this past year; his love for her is apparent in almost every story, in almost every breath. When you’re with him, you sense a bit of the magnitude of his loss. I believe it keeps him going by keeping busy these days.

What a great party that was put on to help raise money for the Special Olympics. It was so amazing to meet some of the athletes and simply be a part of this great event. We brought goodies from $20 all the way up to $5000.00 so there was something for everyone! The event was a great success.
