WCA Jays Finally Play Again

The WCA Jays were starved for action after having their last 5 games cancelled due to rain and they took it out on the Vernon Diamondbacks on Wednesday night up in Vernon winning 14 – 2.  On the night Dallas Monk was 3 for 3 with 2 rbi, Markandre Melanson 2/2 and 1 rbi, Brad White 2/2 and Jared Johnson with 2hits and 2 rbi’s.  The Jays used several pitchers in an effort to get them ready for the upcoming weekend PIL action.  Todd Leavitt tossed 2 innings of no hit ball after starter Mike Tongue gave up a couple of runs in the first inning.

The WCA Jays have an exciting weekend planned as they host a pair of Pacific International League double headers at Boucherie Field in West Kelowna.  First up will be the North West Honkers (Bellevue Washington) starting at 2pm Saturday.  On Sunday the Coquitlam “A”’s will enter the Jays nest with the Double Dip starting at 11am.  These are 2 quality teams and certainly challenge the young Jays players.  Hey kids – a great place to take you Dad on fathers day Weekend.
